Room on The Broom

Welcome back to another exciting instalment of RR’s Class blog. We know it’s been a couple of weeks since our last update, but we’ve been so busy!

We’ve really been enjoying exploring books and stories independently and as a class. Last week our class book was ‘Room on the Broom’ by Julia Donaldson.

So, we donned our Witches and Wizards capes and set about writing our recipes for our potions, before making them in our potion kitchen.

We really had a wonderful time getting to know the story really well and listening for words that rhyme. We’ve been working hard on our rhyming words.

You can find more information about ‘Room on the Broom’ and some lovely activities to try at home, here…

Last week we even had a go at making our own fireworks pictures. Look at these artists showing us their lovely pictures.

We have really been enjoying the outdoor area too, using the role play as a garage. We’ve really enjoyed being mechanics and helping to fix our friends cars.

We even had a special treat this week. one of our children decided that they would like to know how chocolate was made. So, we each got to try milk, white and dark chocolate. We picked our favourite and watched a short video about how chocolate is made…

Can you remember which ingredients are used to make chocolate? How could we find out where the main ingredients come from?

Thanks for checking out what we’ve been up to! Make sure you check back soon!
